In the 1970s, George Sands developed an ESP act inspired by Al Baker’s mnemonic techniques for memorizing cards. However, this approach required memorizing 52 keywords, which proved tedious. Seeking a simpler solution, George devised a method using a “stripper” deck, allowing him to recognize cards without needing to memorize them.

What Are “Belly Strippers”?
In a standard “stripper” deck, cards are cut so that one end is slightly wider. Rotating a card makes it easy to locate and slide out by feel.
Belly Strippers take this concept further:
- One-half of the deck is cut with a thin waist (concave)
- The other half is cut with wider edges (convex)
This design allows you to separate the cards into two packets, no matter how the deck has been handled.
